Week 2

Week 2

Monday

During class we were given a book to read and pass our thoughts on for a short activity.  The book was titled 'Everyone has a right to God'. It was very riveting and thought provoking. The illustrations were interesting, some problematic and others visually pleasing. The message emphasized the importance of not closing the doors for people to learn about Allah, or practice Islam, due to how we viewed or judged them. It also gave practical examples on how to advise people, and not fall into the complete opposite, of shaming them.

I thought the book was well-written. The ideas were clearly discussed. I feel like it was meant to rouse discomfort of some sort as a juxtaposition was created with some images containing religious symbols and others containing apparently 'deviant' symbols.

Wednesday
We had activity where we had to illustrate on a piece of paper the 24 hours of a Muslim's day. So, we sat as a group and discussed on what we wanted to include and how we were going to present it.
