 Like a wild flower in a foreign land, sometimes I feel like I don’t belong here, or anywhere for that matter.

Asslaam Alykum Warahamtullahi Wabarakatuhu my dear readers,

I am Aisha Adesina, a first year student in the Bachelor of Islamic Finance program. On the 28th of October 2023, I moved to Malaysia from Saudi Arabia to study in IIUM. Previously, I lived in Saudi for 17 years and although I’m from Nigeria, I’ve only been there twice. My ambition in life is to be an Islamic finance expert and a writer.

One of my fears of coming to Malaysia was that I’d find it hard to settle in. However, the more I spent time here, interacting with my professors and fellow students, the more I felt at home. And like a wild flower, I felt like I was blossoming and blooming in the garden of knowledge and virtue. Join me on my journey of Usrah 1 Classes.
